evo 4 ecu

hi. im new to this stuff. i have just bought a evo 4 which i understand can not be remaped. i was thinking about a e7 ecu as i read its capable of anti lag. is the e7 ecu a direct fit or do i need to modify wires. im not after full blown anti lag, just pops and bangs. is this possible on any other ecu

The IV ECU cannot be remapped as you know, fitting the VII one requires the swapping of around 5 wires and will enable pops and bangs using the SAS system and soem -ve timing.
The V and VI ECU are a direct fit to the IV, but SAS tables are not defined in these at present.

so if i got a evo 5 or 6 ecu could i use it straight away or would i nedd it mapped straight away. is the pops and bangs not available on these. is it worth getting a e7 ecu. im aiming for around 400bhp. my car is fitted with a evo 8 mr bottom end and evo 4 top end

The V and VI ECU are a direct fit, but not all the ALS tables are available.
The VII has all the tables, but requires around 5 wire changes to work in the Evo IV.
