Ecuflash 1.41 reading evo 6

I tried to read a evo 6 rs2 tonight and it didn't work what am i doing wrong???


used the extra connector like the openport 1.3 cable has.

i could be wrong but i dont think the rs2 can be read from a 1.3 cable as it uses a different processor to the gsr and rs

I tried to read it with the openport 2.0 and 1.3 both give the same error.


Evo X is no problem to read

check the diagnostic socket wiring + white connector wiring.

RS2 and TME can be read fine.

I had this problem in the past reading my original RS2 ecu.

I tried with 3 different versions of ecuflash and none worked then finally with 1.38 (I think) it read fine first time.

Try having the engine running, then hit read, it should cut the engine and then dump the rom (hopefully).

Also unlocker isn't needed on a 5/6 Ecu even if it has been Ecutek'd

If you are using an Openport 2 cable, the flash connector that connects to the white init socket is a bad fit on some cars, make sure this is connecting correctly.

have you tried having the car running, then click read ECU?

He/we tried using both an E6 ECU and an E7 RA ECU in wally's E6 with no success. I faced exactly the same problem when trying to access a USDM Evo8 ECU in another E6...
