Main pro IMO is that you can then run really lean on part throttle 15.5-16:1 and save on fuel economy etc...

Cons are that you probably won't pass an MOT emissions test without it active but I've not checked that one out.

Andy, I have done some testing on the close loop with regards to mot testing, If you lean it out to around 20arf on tick over and playing with the timing it can pass the mot :)

On the Apexi ecu, I map with closed loop as i find it a lot easier to map for tick over and as you start to come on boost so it makes it a lot smoother, but when the car is fully mapped I turn it back on.

I have not tried it on the std ecu yet.

I agree Lee, you can make it pass without using closed loop as long as the MOT tester lets you sit in the passenger seat with a laptop ;) but you wouldn't map it like that to start with etc.

Very true, unless you know the MOT'er and your car turns into a 08 plate Polo,

But as evonuts car is an evo2 I think, his emissions should not be as tough as the later cars and a std cat test with out closed loop it should fly through if afr's are set up on tick over ?

its something i can play with.looking at my stft @ idle i may have to alter my latencys as they are varying from +10/-10

Are you still on 510's or have you fitted the 560?

Leestill on the 510s i will fit the 560s tomoro, rescale then redo the latencys and check my fuel trims with my scanner.

You could put it on the alt map though ;)

If the injectors are from a JDM Evo, the latencys are are different from the 260 injectors, alonng with the scaling.
