Is there a number to go with this Cossie1?

I'm looking to flash this onto my E5 ecu that's currently fitted to my E4!

I thought there are several different versions of the Ralliart ecu available I'm sure you'll correct my either way and your help would be gratefully received!

This is the RA420996R1 ecu rom.

The rom is an untoched Ralliart Rom.

Hi What gains would there be with this rom with 560cc inj over standard 4 ecu + inj ???

you should be able to run up to 1.5 bar safely providing you have a fuel pump fitted.as with all rom changes have fuelling and knock levels checked.:smile:

How do i tell what boost this map will run on standard setup ie with 560cc and this map i know the fuel and timing maps are different and as far as i know this map can run more boost but what is it set at now without changing and where do i see this please ? whould this be a noticeable difference with injector change and ra map on a e4?

Hi Lee r one, I just got an e4 for some track work. I'm kinda new at this reflashing thing. My cars specification is exactly like yours, JDM gsr Evo4 with JDM gsr Evo5 ECU. Would you mind letting me know what is needed to mod the E4 wiring to the E5 Ecu to allow reflashing? Thanks for your time.

Yes will be fine as long as 560cc injectors fitted and recommend uprated fuel pump and as everyone says get it checked for knock and fuelling to be safe.

I opened this ROM with EcuFlash 1.42.

Ignition and fuel maps show load up to 260 only. I tought RA ROMs should have loads to 300.

Any ideas?

Only the 7 and 8 RA roms go to 300 load.

I'm waiting for a 5RS coming from Japan which currently has old HKS F-CON ECU fitted. There are no mappers in the country for that so my plan is to ditch the HKS and map standard 5-6 ECU by myself. I have some previous experience from Megasquirt and Power FC and I have LC-1 wideband which looks to be a good choice with Evoscan.

Do you think it's better to start mapping from stock or this RA ROM? It looks to me that Ralliart might be a bit less work as it's already leaner and has more timing in the midrange.

Thanks Evonut, Gray and Cossie. But I guess using a E6 RA rom in a E5 ecu is fine then since the rom size is the same, Sorry please excuse the newbie q's. I was just going thru the E6 RA map posted in this thread and noticed the injector scaling was at 542cc, since it uses 560cc injectors what happened to the 18cc balance?

Pop the ECU out the case and check the number on the chip first. If it's a 7202F then you can use this rom.
I would not just run it without checking AFR's also, as there have been a few V and VI's that have been running lean to start with.

Is there any advantage of these ROM's over the standard ROM?
I.e. could i just copy/paste the tables from the Ralliart ROM into the normal ROM and it'll do the same thing?

You can copy and paste, but there are other altered tables in the RA rom, so you would need to make sure you copied everything.
They remove the boost/fuel cut, run slightly leaner (standard is pig rich), and have more timing. You can normally run upto 1.5 bar on a RA rom.

Put the RA rom in my E4, and grayw was right runnn lean,had to alter the fuel map, shes now runnin AFR's of 11.8....very nice...
Mods on my E4 are;
Ecu and injectors from an E5
Uprated fuel pump
Decat
Freeflow air filter
Innovate LC1 Digital Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor

you need to log tps/rpm/timing/load/knock/idc/octane flag/fuel trims

Yup, log the following..... knocksum, TPS, RPM, battery, timing advance, inj pulse width, inj duty cycle, ECUload, load calc, octaneflag, AFR MAP & external wideband (if possible)

If you have not had the car checked for AFR's since flashing the Ralliart ROM to it I suggest you get it done ASAP, when I got mine checked it was running lean.

Got innovate wideband/guage/log so took her for a run,same as you was running lean, made about 12 trips now after ajustments to fueling and now very happy, goes like a f..kin bullit!!!!
But i have evoscan and just basically wanted to log it and read the data, but it dosn't want to play, i cant get it to open amything, when i click analyse csv file,map tracer,load fuel and timing i just get a grey page,i click on the bottom half to load the hex file but nothing happens.. so dont know if its me doin something wrong or wat ,thats why i wanted someone to take a look, or point me in the right direction about how to view the log...:blushing:

Yea, map tracer doesn't work for me either, open the log in "Analyse .csv Log File - Graph log Data, Power & Torque", that way you can view what you've logged as a graph.

Been trying to get map tracer to work for ages, but it just won't.

Bin a bit busy today, ill post the log tomorrow, its knockcount that i was bothered about, want to try some other roms, waitin for a cable for the innovate so cant log it as yet,just have to go by lookin at the guage...:>

The whole maptracer thing doesn't work over here as well.

I openend a ticket at evoscan because also the RPM signal goes insane in evoscan, not even connected yet. (see other peoples logs for example )

Going to do the AFR logging tomorrow i hope with a LC1 wide band.

Also got knock counts, but i'm not sure yet how to read the knock counts on evo scan. Normally you get knock count of 1 , 2 etc. but the numbers i get are not normal. (knock count of 60 ? )

Maybe some small user errors some where.


Also i think it won't work because in Japan they cut my speedo cable...

Correct.

Also you need a Serial to USB -converter if you don't have a serial port in your laptop. :)

I have a Belkin Serial to USB -converter and it works just fine.

It is all about the map's scaling.

Currently it is scaled roughly to be able to run 1.5bar. Still you need to check fueling (AFR) and knock. Each car is a individual and some need more adjustment than others.

iv been told on evo oz the the ralliart map for the e6 and 6.5 is very safe and should not cause much greaf. is this anything to go by??

Hi Pt why would you need to do this though? Isn't it easier to adjust the the fuel map? Why not the k value even?:unsure:

Its your motor so do as you please :unsure:

I suggest you check fueling and knock as a minimum requirement, as you dont know if the fuel pump is lazy etc.

If its knocking it will destroy your engine in time!!
