I have an E8 260 ECU and am planning to swap this into my E4RS in the next few weeks. I've read a few threads about swaps carried out already and it looks straightforward enough! The first thing I need to make sure on is that I have all the wiring changes correct. I used the spreadsheet from the MLR for the pinnouts and filtered out all the ones that were already correct, this leaves me with some wires to move and some I'm not 100% sure what to do with yet!

I made a quick PDF of the wires that are different, can any of you guys have a quick look over this and make sure I'm on the right track, and suggest what to do with the ones with question marks against them :confused1:

From what I've read, I can disable the rear O2, Immobiliser and Front O2 heater in the perepheray, so they can basically be ignored / left disconnected?

Also, is it possible to use an ECU input to log pressure / lambda / EGT using Evo Scan? It would make life a lot easier if I wire all this in at the time of the ECU swap...

you are on the right track however your going to have a problem with the radiator fans as the 260 ecu does not switch the feed over to bring them on.the pin 21 is for controlling the fan speed only as it has a separate fan unit on the e7 and e8.you can wire in a toggle switch to bring them on manually or add a temp switch into a water pipe.as you say the immob rear o2 abd front o2 heater can be disabled.you will need to rescale the injectors and adjust the latency values if your using the e4 injectors.

It's easier with the IV, pin 20 goes to pin 32 on the ECU, and pin 21 goes to pin 34.
Cut pin 87 and you may have to swap pins 8 and 22 around.

Hiya Kes,
Good to see you on here.

I'm sure we'll manage the swap OK and as for mapping it.... it'll be fun at least

You can log either boost, lambda or EGT's through the ECU, but only one using the spare adac input. Sure Andy can fix it:smile:

Thanks all, I'm still swapping the engine over at the moment, hopefully that will be in within the next week or two, then the ECU swap is next on the list. I've already enlisted Andy's help, so expect to see plenty of yellow tape holding the ECU in

Not at all Kes...

Yellow tape is for holding bodykits on. It's scotch locks only for ECU wiring work :p :tt2:
