Guys,
Can you someone post some info for simple solution of a pin 79 wire scenario into a E4 ecu/loom?
Nothing fancy mind you but just a way of quickly reading and writing a map would be great??! Not after a permanant install or anything but just a quick fix if there's such a thing?
Cheers, Carl

I've just got a wire which i have a female connector on one end which goes onto the init block connection, at the other end where it connects to pin 79 i have just got a lot of wire which i have bent over and use this to wedge in and hold in place :D
Used for emergency E4 flashing but never had a problem, even whilst logging:smile:

I have a spare pin, which was removed from another car when doing a 7 ecu conversion, i've just extended it with a long piece of wire, and soldered the other end of it so it doesn't fray, which fits nicely into the init connector of the openport cable.

I've removed pin 77, which isn't used when using a later ECU on a IV, extended the wire and soldered a plug on which connects directly into the openport without using the block connector. In fact I did it today and it seems to work a treat, both read and reflashed the ECU.
