Hi Dave,
I'm sure it was because you got your spelling wrong that you didn't get a warm welcome as a true geek would never do something like that
The real reason is that to be honest, it isn't a particularly active forum at the moment and therefore the amount of people that actively post on the site is very small.
However, I'd just like to say a big warm welcome to the site and hope you stay and have some fun
The main potential problem with your E4 is that they are a completely different ECU to any other Evo and no-one has cracked the code yet therefore to allow you to self map it then you will probably be better off going for an E5/6 ECU and injectors etc. and remapping that.

Thanks pal, im sure the site will grow in time and i hope my ill spelling doesnt affect my prospects of reaching true :>geek:> status , yea il be changing to the e5 or 6 ecu shortly so i can have a play, as i understand in order to have a go at map tweeking the bare minimum il need are= wideband o2 gauge, det cans, cable and ecuflash software and of course my later ecu.
anything else you can think of?
thanks in advance.

a big warm welcome to a fellow scot!self mapping is the way forward. iv just converted my evo 2 to run an evo 8 ecu.there are a couple of evo 7 ecus for sale on the mlr which are the ones to go for (or evo 8 (260) ecu like i have)

at the minute you cant log the e5 and 6 ecu with evoscan also there are alot of modified rom files for the e7 and e8 ecus as there are more people working with these ecus as opposed to the 5+6.

Welcome to GM Dave:smile:
FYI, you can log the V and VI ECU with Evoscan using a tactrix 1.3 cable and flash it with the Openport 2. You just can't log with the OP2 cable at the minute.

Me too.
I post on mlr from time to time, but mostly just browse. I own an VIII 340, and ive been interested for a while in mapping. Just been trying to pick up knowledge really, on how it's done and what gear is required.

Well I must not have seen this thread then. If I'd have spotted one with bad spelling or grammar I'd have certainly chimed in :p
Welcome to the board anyway. Keep with it - these forums always start small but will definitely grow over time.
