Hello

Thought it was about time I got myself over here (Cheers for the recommendation Dave & Andy!)

For those who don't know me, I'm Hayley and I have a modified evo 3, which will be getting an ostrich - if I ever get my head around all this mapping lark!

Anyway I best start reading!

Hi Hayley,
Get the Ostrich fitted and start playing   As long as you've got a wideband lambda sensor and a datalogger (like the pocketlogger) then you can't go too far wrong.

Just remember the golden rules:

1. Log, log, log
2. Adjust in small steps
3. Log, log, log

Well its going to be off the road for a little while longer at the moment (need to get a permanent job sorted first, as the car needs tax, insurance and MOT - lol) but it gives me time to get all the kit sorted, I think I leave the main mapping to you Andy as you seem to have it down to a fine art now, I'd just like to understand what you are doing so I may be able to tweek in future!

No probs with that. Just let me know when you need it sorting out and we can arrange something.

The good thing about the early cars is that the std maps are so conservative that it becomes 'relatively' easy to get them a lot better.

Hey Hails. Glad to see you make it over here. Will give you any help on mapping that I can through this or PM. That actually sounds like a marriage proposal or something but it's not the case!

Hahaha Cheers Dave & Andy

Evonut270 - Yeh have read up about that, but I'm swung on getting the Ostrich, and getting Andy to sort it for me - Which is where I ask the question - can we have pops and bangs on an Ostrich Andy?

They are easy to get. Now whether you actually want them on your car or not (or rather, how bad for the car they are) is a matter of some debate.
