View Full Version : Adjustable cam gears

It's sad that mine are both set at zero! & I have no clue how to adjust them! I noticed that some tuners use a special gauge when adjusting cam gears, & I assume that some remapping is required.
Is there any online guide or forum thread for this topic?

The gauge i think is a DTI (Dial Test Indicator).

To set correctly you need a DTI and angle gauge, as the markings on the pulleys can me a world out.

u need to know when max lift on each cam should be achieved, in relation to crank shaft rotation (basically cam spec )then use dial gauges to set up with a angle gauge on the crank shaft
it easy really but will take a hour or so to do correctly and a new rocker gasket .

How can I know about max lift?
I think I need to go through some sort of a illustrated guide in order to learn how to use the dial & angle gauges!

What about remapping? Does adjusting the cam gears require a remap? (timing tables perhaps)!

if you google fiiting/dialling cams then I'm sure you'll find all the info your after, as said you will need a dial gauge.

and you will need a remap/tweak after.
