Can you open the rom file once you have read it from the ECU, or does it say unknown rom def?

this is my first time doing this so im a bit slow! if i click on the file it opens, it gives me a list of make, model, sub model etc, and under that i have fuel ,timing limits etc but the only option i have with these is to right click and i get new map or edit map.

I had the same when I downloaded my standard VI map. Why is this?

The location maybe slightly out in the xml.

thats an xml file
not a rom.

you need to copy the file I posted into your C:\ProgramFiles\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsu bishi\evo directory

ir158
25-02-2009, 10:37 PM

did you put the xml I posted into the directory I said ?

If so did you overwrite the old file ?

ir158
25-02-2009, 11:06 PM
yes i put the xml into the correct directory. how do i overwrite the old file? read it from the ecu again?

Cossie1
25-02-2009, 11:27 PM
no

when you put that xml into the directory, it should have asked if you want to overwrite the current file.

You needed to press yes, otherwise it would just rename it and put them both in the same directory (or not even put it in there at all).

ok, did that and overwrote the existing file.then opened the Ai file i sent you and it still looks the same...

Don't know what is going on there then, you must have another xml with the same id in the ecuflash directory somewhere (the old 1 must not be anywhere in the ecuflash directory).

This is what I see using the xml I posted.

no, there is not another file in there with the that name(24430002).
just to double check, i save the file you sent me to that location, overwriting the old file, then open ecuflash and open the origional file i sent you and it should show the ignition/fuel maps you sent??

Cossie1
26-02-2009, 12:17 AM
yeh, or just double click on the file you sent me (the .hex file) and it should open ecuflash.

ok do this for me.

open the rom, go to the high octane fuel table, then click on edit (top left of the fuel table map) then edit map definition (bottom of the list).

And tell me the address showing in the top row on the right hand side.

ir158

hey mate, the address showing in the top right row is 118a7

Cossie1
26-02-2009, 07:05 PM
then you haven't put the xml I posted in the correct place, as I changed that address to get the map to display correctly.
