How do i create and write twin maps, so i can have one with antilag(pops and bangs) andone without????

What ECU do you have?

To get switchable maps at the moment you need to install an appropriate Tephra modified ROM that has them enabled.

Try this one...

You need to copy over your fuelling and timing maps along with your fuel injector scaling and latency values.

If you then look in the 'Mods' part in ECUFlash you will see the alternate ignition maps and alternate fuel maps

To switch between the 2 you need to press and hold the 'auto' button on the intercooler waterspray button for more than 1.5 seconds. The intercooler spray light will then flash when you are running the alternate map.

latency values,,,, is that the injector battery voltage part??? once the fueling and timing is copied, do u need to copy the knock sensor filters over aswell???
might be a bit much for me this lol

Don't touch the knock sensor filters, these are not defined correctly....

The latencys and injector scaling should already be the same, what values do you have in your original rom?

my rom, thing is ive allready got the negative timing in the normal HIGH OCTANE IGNITION MAP, so switching wouldnt make a difference at this point???

Thanks to AndyF and GrayW....
Now i recieved my cable from grant on the mlr, (very quick) friday lunch time, so got into the car and flashed the ecu with the tephra file (with alternate maps),.......Installed a evo9 re-circ dump valve as before i had a single port VTA turbosmart.... Driving on the alternate map, i have a few bangs in say 3rd gear if u give hard throttle then let off sharp around 5000rpm....funny thing is, it's exactly the same on the normal map:confused1: :lol:

Hi alternate map has negative timing in thats about as much as i know at the min....

Isn't there a way to do this with the earlier evo ecu's? Something like the Moates "2Timer" seen here http://www.moates.net/images/2timer_new.jpg

It just seems like it would be a simple GND switch. Just unsure of what the pin to GND to change it from starting from 0x0000 to 0x8000. Would be cheaper to wire up with a 0.50cent switch, a resistor and some cheap wire then to buy it for $30USD

are you utilizing a 64KB (512Kb) chip or are you using a 32KB (256Kb) chip? and are you loading a whole other 32KB rom image? or is it just pointing to another set of maps? :>

Not loading any new rom images, its just a code change to use another set of maps on the std chip size.

that firgures why i`m not getting any 'poors man antilag' in that forum of pops n bangs i tried the same setting like Maikumaru's High Octane Ignition map plz als settings. and i`m running tephra ralliart rom which i got rom garyx!! so maybe i have to also change the same negative figures on the alternate map!!! advice me!!
and last ? in the limit section wen u set ur idle rev .limt to 5000rpm the car is like its lounging i tried it yesterday!! its that lounging or just rev limit cutt off!!

i`m running the tephra rom on my e7, have altera the ign map for pops and bangs on the mod section but the ICS light is not flashing wen i press it for 1.5 sec and on the mod section the value next to it is 1

Change 'Enable Alternate Maps Master' to a value of 2. Currently it is trying to look for the change in voltage from a switching harness that you haven't got rather than looking for the automatic intercooler spray button ;)

Hello Andy,
I have the switch installed in my 9 and have had no luck getting the thing to work. What setting are you using for this? I havnt had any luck with the guys stateside...

kinda want to turn the dang thing off every once and a while.

Kinda strange though, when map is switched...it takes like 30 minutes to shut off...and yes of course the time to switch is set to 0 or 1.

Any troubles you ran into with your setup you can elaborate on?
