well i think i might be running to rich... first off i started noticing black spots all over the arse end of my car which was really pissing me off cause id clean it and as soon as i took it for a 5 min drive (just normal driving with a little boost) the back end would be covered (dosent help my car is white) I also just had my g/box rebuilt and my mechanic said that it smelt like it was running rich (petrol smell in the front pipe, i think he said) i also noticed that under WOT there would be more than usual black smoke coming out my exhaust.

I remember reading on evom that the black dots were unburnt fuel or something like that???? :confused1:

n e ways wat does everyone think? my car is a evo V gsr and has a walbro with no reg.

mm wat else...... when the ecu was tuned it was during winter so pretty cold say around 12 degress celcius at 1.5bar and during winter it would be crazy quik. now that it is summer the car struggles to hit 20 psi and feels sluggish with my knock light going off under WOT..

I know the temp is the reason why its not hitting good boost and feels slow but would this also cause the increased smoke and black dots. :confused1:

n e one got n e ideas??

Best option if to get it checked by someone who has a wideband lambda sensor.

Without checking using a wideband everything else is just going to be guesswork

My E3 spits out black spots on startup but runs perfectly in terms of fuelling on WOT etc.

Any chance you can also post up your map or are you not able to read it etc?

The map is a starting point but there are a number of variables that mean that the actual fuel ratios may not be near to the map values anyway so you need to get it tested.

Whereabouts in the country are you?

mmmm well thats the thing im in New Zealand  so not sure where to get it tested. there is a couple of dyno's close to me but they charge like a thousand bucks just to get your car on the rollers then they charge ontop of that for how ever long your on it.... utter crap!!!!

dont know how to add the maps but i can send the ROM to e-mail???

Sorry off topic, why is the fuel map scaled to 260 and the timing 300?

Cos thats how it was mapped via 1 of the us email guys.

Dunno if you remember, but a few months back, I was trying to rescale it propperly, but his car didn't like it, was getting high knock sums, so in the end it was decided to just leave the weird scaling (load and rpm) as it was.

^^ yeah thats right coss... you were awesome getting the Teph mod to work for me... Cossie didnt tune the car so it was nothing to do with him he just added the teph mods for me and then spent a bit of time trying to get it running correctly... my cold start idle is pretty crazy to and coss tried to fix it...

heres a better look at the maps
