You can do it with John Banks' patch for the Evo 9 ECU. I believe that it is also shortly to become available on the Evo 8's as well ;)

If you flash as you would normally, but with the engine running it just cuts out and flashes.

I read that there was live mapping available for the 9 through ecuflash, buy the sounds of that it would be more like log & write live rather than live monitor & adjust

It is now live monitor and adjust for ignition/knock.

i used to be able to do this with the emanage on my supra... useless info lol
