what generally goes wrong with them ?

i was going to use one on my gtir to trigger the motec but keep hearing they have a tendency to shit themselves and die. The nissan cas is pretty robust but ideally would require me to get a cover machined up so i can bin the dizzy part of the set up and keep it looking neat. Hence planning on using the evo cas, its a lot smaller/neater to start with.

I had one go on my VI last year, not completely just enough to cause some lumpy idling issues. I don't think their physical location helps either as mine went after a particularly heavy rainstorm ... the kind you get out and paddle. I had heard that some teams racing them do change them quite regularly just in case but I think their tolerances for a slightly dodgy signal are a lot smaller than what you would get on a road car.

not as common to go as later ones , later ones tend to get knocked about because of their placement.
