There will be other xml's under the romdata directory causing this. Check the backup folders.

Ok i had the same problem, ecuflash kept shuting down on me when trying to open either GT or MR rom. I deleted all of the back up folders in ecuflash main directory and reinstalled it, and then just add the roms that you need. Try opening the rom with 8857008 xml only

I removed this base xml I think everything is there in the rom I'll try and read my mates 9gt tonight

Can you please post up your latest xml file for 89290002?

Ecuflash will shut down if you will try to open the file from ecuflash

In order to avoid this bug first open ecuflash than grab your hex file and drag it to ecuflash window.Don`t use open tab from ecuflash window.

Like this it will not shut-down.

This is what I do anyway.

I need a updated xml file because the xml that I have has a lot of table missing for 89290002.

If you have a updated xml file please post it up if is possible.

Thanks a lot guys

DanielN, this is happening to me as well. If I put the base9 back in it will only open when you dump the hex. file directly into ecuflash & even then there are things missing, boost limit for example but I can find it in the xml put up on this thread. I've searched the th openecu forum & found that alot of people have this problem. Todd-w has put an xml on there which in my case anyway does exactly the same. Bring on the GEEKS..

Remove all the backup directories from under Ecuflash and more all the XML's apart from that rom ID and the Evo9base.xml.

It opens fine now Gray.. I'll double check when I get home:smile: by removing all the xmls that whrere in there the problem as now gone so does this meen It is down to a number of xmls causing the problem or just one that could be ditched so that I can still open all the other roms I'm using with no choping & changing of files & folders?

Cheers

This is doin my nut now.. The machine i've used in work didn't open the rom today so i dropped the hex into the front page of ecuflash, opened ok. Shut ecuflash down then it didn't open like it had opened, no probs the other day. Tried allsorts on my lapppy & tower at home. Unless I put the hex in through the front using only the base9 & xml from here I can't get all the rom info open.. Geeks get your thinkin caps on.. this is not just me I'm sure.

Ta v much J

It's normally having two Evo9base.xml's that causes it.

I only managed to get this to load in ECUFlash 1.42 and 1.43 by deleting Evo9base.xml and keeping evo9base_20080530.xml and evo9base_20081101.xml but this doesn't show everything (missing mivec maps etc).

Can someone upload an e9 base xml that works with this hex?

Worked this out for a guy in Singapore, I did not realise it was used in UK as well. It is stand-alone, no base required.

Found the above file from Merlin crashed while scrolling in ECUFlash 1.43.3252. Tracked down to the scaling for "Sync Load Accel Compensation v RPM" being set to "Mult128" which doesn't exist at the top of the file. I've changed to "Mult128_8" which does exist but not sure the implications.

At least now you can scroll the list of settings without ECUFlash crashing.

doing some more work on this rom and xml and discovering it is a lot different to 8858 and 8859 series roms.
However I think it is a good rom to use and develope as a lot of emissions bumf is missing.
