Ok so the FP Red arrived today.
Now do you think I would have to be completely insane to fit the Red or not ?
I think you should fit an oil temp and pressure gauge 1st :)

Got an oil temp gauge already.
It's just getting the Oil Pressure gauge at a sensible price thats an issue.

It's worth more 2nd hand then, as it's the only 1 thats never been fitted, thats in the uk right now ;)

Well i'm really not sure what to do right now.
As I had a dyno run today (which was free :D).
The car did it's firt run at 370bhp
2nd run was 390
3rd run was 398bhp.
They asked if I wanted them to run it again, but I said nah I am happy with that, as I was only expecting 350ish bhp.
Boost was 1.7bar :D
Anyway here are the graphs tell me what you think.
Bare in mind, this was on a stock TME tubby (don't ask about the IX tubby).
And on the Green the only clean run I had at RC was 314bhp @ Wheels

The dyno run was done on a 6 TME tubby.

Good news Russ, the 3076 is a really good but of kit.

Yeh it's a brand new ATP kit.
I Pm'd jamie earlier he said I might need to get either the downpipe or my decat extended a bit to get it to fit, but I am sure I can get that sorted out easy enough.

We have a Red running on a X RS and Putting one on a 2.1 Evo V we have built.
Let you know when both are finished being mapped!

What octane gasoline are you running in the evo?

If it were mine I would be holding off untill there were several people running this turbo as its new on this side of the pond. Then there is the issue of reliability, the FP green has not been doing too well and the red is pushing this even further.
I'd stick with what works and a good 3076 will see you make the power (at slight expense of spool) all day long with little to worry about.

The wheels in the Red are HTA so they will be pretty stable. Unlike the green which have wheels made from scratch by FP.

It will be interesting to see what they do :D

Pump fuel we use is usually 99 octane.

Thats why i've got rid (well tomorrow night) and getting the 3076 ;)

The wheels don't seem to be an issue with the Green, it's the shafts.
My Green exploded (according to FP) which was the shaft snapping, taking out the bearings, and the compressor wheel hitting the housing and shreading itself.
The same has happened to a few others now as you know.
With the Red FP hasn't said if they have uprated the shafts or not, and this is the worry, as the IX tubby isn't great with high boost and reliability imo, which is why the Green also suffers, so if the Red is still using the same shaft (which I expect it is, otherwise FP would say it had been changed), your going to put even more pressure on the same shaft, due to bigger wheels which are more than likely heavier, but will deffo generate more force at high boost.

in all honesty, im really against using anything from a company that are SO SHIT! with customer service its untrue, it took me a month to get replies from emails and being fobbed off daily by some clown on the other end of a computer when in the end as i asked what boost x rpm do they rate the red to, considering their claims of too high boost on the green failures, they said perhaps i shouldnt even buy a turbo?????????
i replied suggesting they took customer service classes.
in the end they told me its guaranteed up to 450whp when suggested dynos were different it just got all messy
forget it, they are clowns

So a usa 450whp, is roughly 450bhp @fly here.
