View Full Version : Evoscan not recognising LC-1?

My LC-1 works fine with Logworks, but Evoscan will not recognise the port that the USB is plugged into.
Grayw suggested that it was because the port assigned to the LC-1 is too high a number for Evoscan (it's typically port 9 or 10) and that you can force the laptop to assign it a lower number and Evoscan would then recognise it.
Can anyone please tell me how to assign a lower port number to my LC-1?
I'm using Windows XP on an IBM Thinkpad.

OK, I think I've answered my own question:
Go into Control Panel, System, hardware, device manager. Locate and expand
the ports section. Right-click on the port you want to change and choose
Properties. On teh Port Settings tab choose Advanced. In the lower left
is a dropdown where you can change the com port number assignment. CHoose
OK back to the desktop, and the device should now be at that location.
I'll give it a go tomorrow and report back if it works.

Go to control panel, system, hardware, device manager... then go to ports (com+lpt). Double click the port you've connected the LM1 to. There should be a tab on the top saying settings (I think! It's the second from the left I'm sure) then go to advanced which will let you change the port number. :D
If it's coming under the USB, then I'll have to get back to you!

Just to report back, this works (but if you're using a work laptop, you'll need administrator rights ;) ).

I'm using a little asus solidstate Eeepc & I can't get my lm1 to work with a serial / usb adaptor as there is no serial port so nothing in the select wideband serial ComPort option... any ideas?
