Have read the below from the Evoscan site:

How to get Mitsubishi AYC/ABS support from an OpenPort 1.3U cable.
Step 1) Pin1 must be linked to pin15.
Early OpenPort cables did not have Pin15 linked to pin1(check with a multimeter continuity test) to see if its connected.
a) No pin1 on the OpenPort cable. Move pin1 on the vehicle side to the pin15 position.
b) Pin1 is connected to Pin4/5 on the OpenPort cable. Move pin1 on the vehicle side to the pin15 position.
c) Pin1 is connected to Pin15 on the OpenPort cable. Cable is AYC/ABS ready.

Step 2) Try logging with EvoScan v2.5 or later. Select Mitsubishi, and select ECU to "AYC" or "ABS", Press start datalogger.
If it doesn't connect, then perhaps you have pin9 interference. Goto Step 3.

Step 3) Subaru 2002 vehicles use Pin 9 for reflash support, but it interferes with the AYC/ABS ecus on some
Mitsubishi obdII ports, so you can either break pin9 off the OpenPort Cable, or put a switch on pin9 from the obdI.

Does this mean that I can use a tactrix openport 1.3 cable with the above mods to then read the AYC ECU?

You can modify the Tactrix cable to read the AYC ECU, but they can be a pain to split the connectors.

Been looking at this myself and looking at the Tactrix/limitless Cable, it looks like the DTR line switches the L-Line which is Pin 15 on the OBDI-II connector.

So by linking it to Pin 1 you are using this to either take this Pin High or low which then allows access to the ABS/AYC ECU.

I tried a normal dual K/L line cable today and my EVO6 went nutty :D so will wait till I get my own cable made up to try this again!!

I thought it was pin 9 ??

I would like to buy a cable with it already removed as when I tried to do it with mine, well, well lets just say may cable will probably not see a car again

Pin 9 is for Scooby's but if left connected when using it on a EVO it can cause conflicts.

iirc limitless will supply them without a pin 9 connected, but you have to ask when you order it.

just read and re-read again on the limit less site
"For Mitsubishi ABS/AYC support - put in the comments box on the next page that you want a cable without pin9"

so if you receive a cable with Pin 9 will this cause problems logging with EVOScan?

If you got a Scooby nope, but if you got a EVO, then yep.

Have the same issue with my limitless aswell. Though they came ready to use with Evoscan for AYC bleeding but GrayW informed me that you need to spec them with pin 9 removed when ordering!

Tried to open connecter other night to remove pin 9 but couldnt get into the bugger, was scared of breaking it. Maybe try to snap off pin without dismantling

Had a closer look at this last night.

Quick Run Down.

K-Line is used for Logging and connected to Pin 7 of OBD-II Connector.

L-Line is Connected to Pin 15 of the OBD-II Connector and used in older vehicles for waking up the ECU before sending a INIT down the K-Line.

I finished off some of my cables about 2:00am this morning and while having a final Smoke before Bed I decided to attach Sniffer to the L-Line, attach it to Pin1 of the OBD-II Connector and run up EVOscan and see if my theory about taking it High-Low was correct.

Sorry to say I was wrong, well partly!

Now first so you understand. The EVO4-6 need Pin 1 on the ECU to put it into Diagnostics Mode, EVO 7-9 dun't care because they HARD :> .

So with K-Line connected to Pin1 I expected EVOscan to take the Pin Low when Monitoring the EFI(Main ECU) and maybe drop high when doing the ABS/AYC.
Well monitoring EFI it did indeed take Pin1 low and logged great.

When choosing AYC or ABS it does not just take the Line high as I thought, it actually sends the 5 Baud Init down Pin1 instead of out the K-Line to the ECU.
So this means the INIT line for the AYC and ABS do go down Pin1.

I do not have a AYC or ABS ECU connected to my bench ECU, so have to wait till I brave the cold outside and try it on my actual car to see if the Repies are coming back down the K-Line or back on Pin 1 to the L-Line.

I think they will come back down the K-Line myself, or hope so
