Thought I'd better post something on cables types and which one does what.
The far left cable is the new Tactrix Openport 2, it will read and write a majority of 99> Subaru's and will have support for all Evo's from the IV onwards.
At present the software is not on general release for the V and VI or the X, but beta testing is going on and a full release is expected soon.
The middle cable is the Tactrix 1.3u, it will read and write Mitsubishi Evo VII's, VIII's and IX's, as well as 1999> Subaru's but not CAN BUS models
This does not have support for the Evo V and VI or the X.
Last on the far right is the Limitless 1.3u cable, this has the same support as the Tactrix 1.3u, but also allows AYC/ABS connection on Evo's.

No, the one on the left. (the most expensive) lol.
It will in the future have loads more features though.. :p
Type it in google or have a look on MLR in the group buy section. ;)

For the V or VI ECU flashing you require an Openport 2. PM Grant620 on the MLR.

Yea and no logging at the min until the fw is all sorted, so now you need 2 cables 1 to flash the 5/6 and 1 to log......

am i right in thinking the op2 will only read the rom off the ecu and if i want to flash back to it i will need the adaptor and wire it to pin 79 on the ecu??

Yes you require the flash connector also.

You need the adapter to both READ AND WRITE to from the ECU. Most places sell the OP 2.0 with a bunch of adapters included, some for Scoobs, etc. It does inc. the one shown in the pic above.

Yes thats the pin that goes direct to pin 79 on the ecu and your correct in saying that there is only one in that block:smile:

Redeye....have you got an E5? (going by a previous post you made on this thread)
If so you should have that ISO block already connected however on the 5 and 6 they didn't mount it anywhere and is free to roam around where it pleases so you may have to get right underneath the dash and have a look for it tangled in the other wiring ;)
if no ones been at it before its usually taped to the loom just above the obd plug .
