View Full Version : E5/6 Flashing
Morning,
Right I have a Evo 5 to flash next weekend and just need some info.
And someone has lent me a TME for the week to play with that :>
Can you get launch control to work on the 5/6's
Also is there any knock control tables that can be put into the XML's that can show it, as both cars have gsc cams

Don't think the knock tables have been located in the V and VI roms.
There is a guy in the openecu beta section with problems flashing the MH7203F with happens to be the same processor fitted to the TME, so be careful you don't end up with a non recoverable ECU.
The MH7202 as fitted to the V and VI seems to work fine, as I've flashed a few now without issue.
HI Gray,
I will have to get Russ on the case or Mr Fox to try and find them as that ramdom knock on gsc is a right headache
The TME has a standalone ecu at the min but still has all the old parts in place just to swap back, so if it does lock out its not so much a problem.

John Banks is the man, but finding the locations is not easy.

So I guess all along people were assuming the 7203 was just a slightly modified 7202. I guess that's not the case.
I haven't yet built a test harness to program my 7202 based 98 3000GT ECU. But I have tried my 7203 based 2000 Mirage ECU, and it fails during programming. All I tried to do was change the fuel injector byte from 0x85 ot 0x86. This is what I get:

I wouldn't really consider this a big deal except that this may effect the Evo 6.5/TME guys. The only reason I even have this ECU is for bench testing and abuse.
Maybe this is useful...maybe not. I wanted to at least post the log.
:eek:MMMmmmmmmmmmmmm
Odd one that, I will read the rom and see what it looks like first.
I will also remove the board just to have a look to see if i can see what processor is in it .I will also post up a pic so you can see if its the same as the board you have.
When I get my cable back I will try a test write to the ecu and see if all goes well or not and will post up the log from that to see if its the same, thats if you don't beat me to it :p

I have already looked for the ALS tables, but couldn't find the address's for them.
Same goes for the knock tables.
Everything in the 5/6 xml's is everything I could find.
Also prob best not to try and rescale anything for the moment, as when I did the xml's it was purely to see what the maps looked like, as it was looking like it would never be possible to flash the 5/6 ecu's.
