Hi guys, a mate of mine has just bought a m48 for his his pulsar, and wants me to see if I can map it for him.

is there anything to be aware of when using there software? (I'm only used to ecuflash)

how hard/easy is it to use?
lc-1 hook up ok with it?

Cheers guys

The first one you do will take a long time, days in fact without some kind of training.

I have downloaded the training seminar but haven't looked at it yet.

you mapped motec before Gray?

I've done a couple M800's now, and to be honest I was given instruction on the 1st one I did. It's a far cry from adjusting fuel, ignition and boost.

If you have never done a standalone before, it can be difficult. For example, do you know the coil pack type?

no never done a 'proper' ;) ecu

regard coilpacks, is it just a case of inputing dwell time etc?

cheers Gray (although not fancying it now...lol)

.....to top it off my mate wants me to have a go because hes not sure if there are other issues with the car and doesn't want to travel and pay a mapper to tell him he cant map it because there is something wrong.

was cutting at 5k rpm on stock ecu apparently, and they havn't got a fuel cut....sooo???

I'd read the manual from back to front before beginning.

I've been "lucky enough" to use the Apexi PFC, Haltech & Wolf AEM stand alones & I would say sensor set up is a big issue, this needs to be correct If the base settings aren't exactly set as what the car is running I'ts a non starter from the word go. Obviously knowing the software is & training (if you can get it) as Gray has said is paramount. As Our luvly Mitsi units are startin from a mega buck base map I'd say we are a little spoilt.
Try & address the problems that are allready there before you start on the new ecu, you'll be for ever tinkering otherwise.

Enjoy
