As I posted in another thread the processor for the TME is the 7203F a later version of the 7202F, quote from Colby Boles below:
Perhaps it is a CPU variant with either more ROM/RAM, and/or a different memory map. If so, some of the flashing register settings will probably need to be changed. This is analogous to the kernel changes in the SH7052 .vs. SH7055 reflash.

VI GSR ECU board pic below:
Right plugged in the 6 TME ecu and read the rom all was ok.
I then changed a few setting in the fuel and tried to test write it back to the ecu all went fine no problems.
Then tried to write it and got this........So it looks like the 6TME ecu can not be written to at the min.

I found this ecu in a 6 GSR today.
I read the rom off it, and it came back as the normal GSR rom (strange), but it had the 7203F processor and the same board number as above.
I didn't get a chance to try and write to the ecu, as the battery was flat on the laptop by the time everything was sorted with the car I was playing with.

Those pix are very very much like the V6 VR4 ECUs, just short 2x injector drivers.
Has anyone had some feedback from Colby re any progress on the 7203?

GrayW, has anyony in the UK got any further with this or had any mail from Colby?
Do we know if it will be sorted or is it being ignored and so we must find an alternative ECU.

At the moment people are having to buy F7202 board, I have not heard if there has been any other work done to resolve the problem.

I just had the same issue with an EVO 6 GSR ECU. I read the ECU, changed just the injector scaling, wrote it to the ECU, and it went through just fine. When I read the ROM it came up with the larger injector scaling, so I know it took. But, when I tried to reflash the stock ROM back into it, I got the same error message as above. After many fruitless tries at reflashing the entire ROM, I just reread the ROM, changed the injector scaling back to the stock 542cc, and it took it! Strange...it will take just the injector scaling change, but not a complete ROM rewrite.
