What happened was....
The sensor in my decat (located roughly in the 1 o clock position) must have been rubbing on the bottom of the car. The wires ended up being pulled out of the sensor and shorting together. This blew a fuse in the car. Having just wired a new stereo in, I wrongly assumed that my wiring was at fault. I disconnected the radio and put a new fuse in. It was at this point that smoke started coming out of my LC-1 controller.
After posting on your thread, Thursday night my LM-1 blew up
I fitted it in to the car, plugged it in the lighter socket plugged in the sensor all working fine did a few miles in the car and the display went all funny and then went off.
So went home to see what the problem was, changed the fuse in the lighter and still nothing, plugged it in my Jeep and all was fine.
So hard wired it into the car all was fine for 5 mins then the sensor wire starts to smoke and then catches fire
So £300 worth of kit goes up in smoke due to bad earth problem I think that the car has......:omg:
TBH tho the LM-1 has done well it done loads of cars and lasted a good 3 years, so now I have a nice new LM-2:lol:
