Hi there guys and girls, ok to cut a long story short my EVO has 2 ECU's 1 for the LPG and 1 for Petrol. I have a 6 ECu waiting to be fitted in my garage and have attempted it twice, got it all plugged in and working no problem, but I have no idea what map is on it currently.

All i'm after is someone with a cable so I can fit the ECU, put a standard (Ralliart) map on it, then map the LPG side myself.

The thing is the LPG side will not work if the EVO side isn't working properly. I know the car the ECU came off was running 380bhp and mine is running nowhere near, so I don't want to run the current map as im in danger of over/under fuelling and god knows what other issues.

Someone, anyone, PLEASE HELP ME.

My only other option if I can't get any help is to go to someone who can map the ECU. PLEASE HELP :)

Pop the case off the VI ECU and see if the number on the chip is MH7202 first.

Just out of curiosity, are you saying your LPG runs off a second Evo ECU? Mine has it's own dedicated ECU (came with the gas system) that just gets a signal from petrol injectors. :confused1:

The LPG ECU mirrors the original ECU, it is it's own ECU, however if the original EVO ECU is not mapped correctly and the corresponding LPG ECU mapped correctly, they won't work as well together.
Im trying to get mine to run full power on LPG all the time, bigger injectors etc, chatted to the guy that installed yours actually, said it switches over like mine just before peak boost? Then back when off boost?

Also what is the number for???

Thanks

Yep, mine switches over about 4k rpm. Let me know hoe you get on with the LPG anyhow.

If you mean the one grayw is asking for, that will confirm your ECU chip type, and its ability to be flashed. (i think:unsure:)

Well, I would hope that it is mappable, with it being taken straight from a 6... Will get the cover off tonight and let you guys know

RE: The LPG, the mapping cable and software is quite reasonable, about £50 for everything, which is why im doing it myself. Plus the LPG software does everything for you lol

I know the question was directed at CBRbiker13, but if you are interested in the LPG, read about mine on this thread> http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=276266&page=2

Thanks for the info, it's from a TME so need to check then... I thought all 5 upwards were mapable? If this isn't the case what sort of power will the map be set at?

Re: LPG
If your going LPG matey, then you want a Prins VSi system, if the system is fitted correctly, then you should have no switchover from LPG back to petrol, it should run LPG 100% of the time, this is why I am getting bigger injectors, my kit is made up of several, all of which are being upgraded but I recommend after hours of research either Prins or Bigas, cost would be around £2000.

There is a company in Newark, Northern Road Engineering, they would do the lot for £1800 - £2000 and there would be no switchover. Currently though I think the most you can run with a decent kit on LPG is 350bhp... This is with the Vaporiser on full chat and Big Bore Injectors.

Hope this helps.
