I bought a Field harness extension from Greenline, cheap and good quality.
HARNESS (http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/fullimage.php?path=electronics/images/fieldonetouch-BIG.jpg&brand=FIELD&name=One Touch Connector&car=Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV/V/VI CN9A/CP9A (4G63))

With it you can use every plug of the ECU without mods on your oem harness, you'll just have to buy some components to make your own switching harnees.

You used to get them from here but it looks like Jamie has started selling them through retailers a E8 one will be fine for your car
